NT Girls Hockey Season/Tryout
New Trier Girls Hockely Club organizes a girls hockey team for girls attending New Trier High School. All girls attending New Trier High School are eligible to tryout. The team plays in the Metro Girls High School League.
Ages
New Trier Girls Hockey is open to any girl attending New Trier High School. Freshman-Senior.
When
Tryouts are usually in mid August and the season runs approximately from September to the following March.
Where
Practices are held at rinks near New Trier High School. Typically Wilmette Centennial or North Shore Ice Arena. Games are held at either our home rinks or other rinks in the Chicago metropolitan area.
Practices
Typically, there is 1 ice session a week and this is usually a game. There are few practices.

How Do I Register for USA Hockey?
All players must have a valid USA Hockey number for the 2026–2027 season.

All players must be registered with USA Hockey before tryouts and before registering for tryouts.
Is SafeSport Required?
SafeSport Training (for 2009 & earlier birth years only)
All players born in 2009 or earlier are required to complete SafeSport Training prior to being rostered—no exceptions.
- Training is valid for one year.
- If Core Training was completed last season, only the Refresher Course is required.
- You must use your current USA Hockey number to log in.
- If your course doesn’t appear, refresh the page—it can take a few attempts.

Note: Per USA Hockey rules, players born in 2008 or 2009 cannot be officially rostered without completing SafeSport training.
2026-27 NT Girls Hockey
The 2026-2027 Season will start in early September. Tryouts are scheduled:
Friday, August 21 @ 6:35 - 7:35
Sunday, August 23 @ 11:00 - 12:00
Both of these will be at the Skokie Skatium.
